AUDIO: Lisa Desjardins live from Cleveland

Longtime CNN reporter turned PBS NewsHour correspondent Lisa Desjardins took some time from her busy schedule at the Republican National Convention to chat with Morning Bull on the scene from Cleveland.

Lisa’s no stranger to covering political conventions, but noted how this particular cycle is like truly unique.  “That has been a running theme throughout this entire election. We haven’t seen an election like this in memory, to be honest, and that’s for many reasons.  The largest of those are the candidates themselves.”

She continued, “Donald Trump is the first American, who would if he succeeds be president without having had any other prior political office or having served as a military general.  He’d be the only one.  And then Hillary Clinton of course would be the first female president, but also the first woman who’s already been in the White House as First Lady.  And those are things that are unquantifiably new, and something that we’re seeing the country react to very strongly for and against both candidates.”

Lots of interesting perspective on the floor of the convention with Lisa Desjardins below.
