This edition of the “Professor Podcast” is a bit different. Instead of a classic rocker, this time JP checks in with the director of a cool new documentary due out soon. Documentary director Scott Crawford’s back with a really cool look inside CREEM magazine, the 2nd best selling rock and roll magazine behind Rolling Stone in the 70’s. While Rolling Stone was the “definitive” voice of rock at the time, CREEM was respected by musicians as an outspoken voice, a harsh critic that didn’t write puff pieces to sell magazines. Head music critic Lester Bangs famously trashed Alice Cooper’s first album, and they were notoriously harsh to fellow classic rockers Journey. In order to get this cool project released, director Scott Crawford is looking to Kickstarter, hoping to raise $100,000 by early August.
